The goal of this project is to redo the Porsche Carrera GT model in BlackBox Need for Speed games.
For those unaware, EA/Blackbox kept using the same inaccurate Carrera GT model from Need for Speed: Most Wanted all the way through Undercover (and some non-mainline games as well). The inaccurate model apparently was modeled after the concept version of the car and then made to look like the production version, thus resulting in the model’s odd and inaccurate shape.
This project will fix the Carrera GT in the following games, remaining faithful to the original art style and textures, and preserving all original customization options, re-adapting body kits and bumpers to the fixed model:
– NFS: Most Wanted
– NFS: Carbon
– NFS: ProStreet
– NFS: Undercover
The following games also use the bad model, and may or may not be fixed in this project:
– NFS: Shift
– NFS: Shift 2 Unleashed
– NFS: World
And these games also use the model but will not be fixed, as these games cannot be modded:
– NFS: The Run (X360/PS3 DLC)
– Real Racing 3

These past few weeks I’ve been at work on the Carrera GT model fix, adding the extra 2 kits from NFS Carbon! In the first progress update post, I showcased the first two kits from MW completed and in-game. Now we have the next two kits done in Blender.
